Lake Statistics

These are the recorded dates of the ice off and ice on over the past thirty-three years. Note: the ice-on dates record only the ice covering the lake surface and not the thickness. The thickness varies from location to location so always measure the thickness prior to venturing too far. In mid-March the lake began its end-of-season drumming sound, at times quite loud. By the beginning of April large open areas began to appear and strong winds on the 13th and 14th completed the final melt.
