FORESTRY UPDATE:
Logging South of Tin Cup Lake Starting in late May or early June, West Fraser in conjunction with High Bar First Nation will be logging two cut blocks south of Tin Cup Lake.  It will be a selection harvesting prescription.  The logging is expected to be completed by September. A map is attached for reference.  Note; be aware of the additional logging traffic on the Bonaparte Road as well as the trail on the south side of Tin Cup Lake during this time.  Use caution when out on the trails.   Forest Health The presence of Douglas-fir beetles appears to be less but continue to exercise caution with the use beetle pheromones and cleaning up of downed Douglas-fir trees and large limbs.  This helps to remove the potential host for the beetles to expand their population.  Small firewood size pieces are not a good host environment for the beetle.  We can all do our part in protecting our forests. Enjoy the summer and all the activities it brings, stay safe while on the trails.
